StarSafari ($1.99 → Free, 84.0 MB): This education app puts the entire Milky Way Galaxy into the palm of your hand. The app contains all of our solar system’s major planets and moons. It also includes 120,000 stars from the Hipparcos catalog, which is a database of the brightest and nearest stars. You’re able to tap on any planet, moon, or star to select it, allowing you to learn more about it or even fly into orbit around it. The app also includes the ability to animate the flow of time, and search for something specific by keyword.
